The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) is a quaternary care academic medical center with a main campus, and a remote campus located in an underserved area. Our strategy and successes are fundamentally grounded in prioritizing the human experience and a global understanding that patient experience data is representative of the quality of care we provide to our patients, and organizational culture that we cultivate for our employees. This presentation will walk session attendees’ step by step through our journey to sustained top decile performance and provide tangible take aways that can be used by any organizations regardless of size, demographics, and financial status as part of their effort to achieve their vision of the ultimate human experience. We will also discuss how we leveraged our partnership with Press Ganey and it’s affiliates such as NDNQI, Narrative DX and the Nursing Excellence Solution, to help us achieve our vision over time.
